Article - Banner-Raising Overshadows Loss to Red Wings

http://www.chicagonewscoop.org/banner-raising-overshadows-loss-to-red-wings/

My dad had two tickets to the Hawks game and he wanted my brother and I to experience the historical moment of the banner being raised. It was an amazing feeling for the people of Chicago who have been long time Hawks fans, since the last time the Hawks won the Stanley cup was back in 1961. There was an old man next to me at the game with an unlit cigar in his mouth crying tears of joy when that banner was raised. Words cannot describe how amazing it was!

  2. It's probably hard to appreciate when you get to win a championship at such a young age...some of those guys had been waiting a long long time. This is coming from a Red Sox fan.

  4. What an awesome experience. I am jealous. I watched on tv and can't even imagine all of the emotions there that night. Would have been awesome if we could have won that game though.

  5. Hope you had a great time at the hawks banner celebration rikiki. Remember when we got to go round the locker room and went to the game later that night after you asked for free tickets!
